Family
05:33
|
|||
With a deep breath we begin our songs,
Without a single notion of right and wrong
Baby hands & a giant’s heart
A smile to light up the room making darkness depart
I can see it in your eyes
A crystallized notion, a potion of our souls intertwined
See my heart has grown a full size
A minnow in the ocean, a beauty I cannot describe
So I’ll say
I am thankful for my family
And every little blanket they wrap around me
I am thankful for my family
It’s like heaven… is lookin out for me
A steady roof kept over my head
Keepin out the cold rain, my belly is full & I’m fed
A reminiscent story, a flashback as I fall asleep
You whisper goodnight and I know that you got me
See I am thankful for my family
And every single story they choose to tell me
I am grateful for my family
Through the darkness it’s clear
eyes shut you know I believe that you got me
I happen to slip up, a removal of ground in your pride
You do not loose face nor cover your eyes
You take my hand, guided by your compass I might
Change my ways, makin way for the light
See I am thankful for my family
And every single lesson they choose to teach me
I am thankful for my family
With open arms & a heart
Wings spread through the darkness I know
That you got me

First Came
02:42
|
|||
First came the middle finger
Then came the chance to rebel
First came the middle finger
A chance to finally yell
First came the middle finger
Sharing desperation with the fellow man
First came the middle finger
Holding tightly to the passion was the only plan
Then came the opposites
All glittered in gold
Magnesia milk flyin
Down the pearly white stepping stones
With a cold seductive hand
And their penetrating eyes
You see their horns start to appear
Then they smile & wait for your reply
With two separate roads ahead
Feelin kinda weak with some greed
Instead, you grip tight to the love of humanity
Ground yourself, root yourself with all the trees
It’s a, step forward you know
A move in the right direction to supplement the soul
No matter what you get out or put in the wind blows
No matter what you get out or put in the wind blows
No matter what you get out or put in the wind blows
[Cue funky beatbox sesh]

Lending The Light
03:45
|
|||
I’ve been lookin at myself through a double faded window
Hearing the voice of God crying out
From the palate from which I paint you
You are lifted high
Through the iris of my own apple you have drawn my
I don’t know where you are
You seem to just run and hide
Swimming in the solace of my mind
I don’t know where you are
I can even stop time
Written in a language
That just you and your cells can divide
As sure as I can hook you, may I sink this line
You tell me that I’m your son, and that I’m divine
Well I don’t know who you are, you tell me to look inside
Yet these visions of nail and crosses
Keep me lying awake at night
I feel the weight on my shoulders
I feel the folly of man
Given my heart and soul to the conscious collective
As your father, your mother, a sister, and brother
Please lend me the light if you can
If you can
If you can
Please lend me the light if you can

We Are The Ones
06:51
|

A little baby born in his home
The scent of lavender and mother’s love the first to his nose
He takes a breath cries out, the warmth of the walls around him
At last it is the gift from the gods
A grin from one ear to the next a breath the midwife saw
So deep, at peace, a golden light surrounding everyone
She took her by the hand and said
We are the ones, who are having all of the fun
Because we take a deep breath and love in the moment
We are the ones, who are having all of the fun
Because we take a deep breath and love in the moment
A little boy he runs to his home
Sunk with tears upon his eyes a frightened story told
About the boys at school, who picked on him for playing with spiders
They pushed me and they shoved me, they tore off the legs
The darkness deep hidden inside, let out with the plague
I couldn’t help I was so afraid of trying
His mother held him close and said
We are the ones…
A young man he visits his home a sort of subtle sadness
A drip from his nose his canvass wet and cold
His message to the world forgotten
They would not even listen they all turned their heads
Some cogs inside a wheel of fear, consumption instead of listening
To all of us we’re trying you know
I know, I know I’m to remember that
We are the ones…
The boy he is a man now he visits his home
With a partner upon his shoulder a lover of his own
He stops, a racing heart is trying to catch him
His mother slows him down and she says,
Hello, where have you been?
It’s been to long my dear child, won’t you come in
Don’t be embarrassed or shy, I can see love in your eyes
You both are always welcome
And I’m sure you’ve already told him that
We are the ones…
The man he is a father now he visits his home
With a husband and a daughter, a family of his own
He stands in love and silence by his mother’s side
Releasing all his love to her in the look in his eyes
And then, his daughter began
She said, grandma I love you and when you’re in heaven
Please don’t loose sight, remember to kiss me goodnight
And with each and every story, I’ll remember how you told me that
We are the ones…

Shadow
05:08
|
|||
Oh sometimes my feet are cold
Withered toes not knowing what’s behind the window
Oblivious to what grows
Oblivious to what grows…
With my hands in the air feelin kind of weak
Speakin only truth, tryin not to seek my
Shadow
Hearing whispers in the dark sparking up the light
Melody my sword carving out the fright of
Singing to you
Sometimes my feet are cold
Liquid appetite I might feel as though
My memories are much more than gooey soul
My memories are much more than gooey soul…
With my hands in the air feelin kind of weak
Speakin only truth, tryin not to seek my
Shadow
Hearing whispers in the dark sparking up the light
Melody my sword carving out the fright of
Singing to you
Oh sometimes my feet are cold

Black Gold
03:56
|
|||
I met an old man right down on the beach
A hook in his hand I watched the teardrops fall right down his cheek
Without a single word he told me, about the trials and tribulations of his family
He pointed to the shore and I began to see
It is the black gold
We be pushin we be movin decimatin our souls
It is the black gold
Robbing the trees and all the fishies of their lives you know
Black gold
We be burnin we be pushin through your schools & your homes
Black gold
My salute to all the activists young and old
The mother said honey come out and play
She put on a smile and said it’s not gonna hurt ya it’s a beautiful day
The girl was not oblivious she knew the air was full of dust coughing for days,
Its not worth it for the sunshine, she pulled her mother inside and she began to pray
It is the black gold…
Today a new day that has begun,
The clean water, air I vow is what I pass onto my son
I’m tired of living life in the shadows, thinking that I’m the only one
Who hears the soft cry of the sparrow and knows that there is much work, to be done…
It is the black gold…

I’ve been pickin up the pieces of my traveling soul
There’s a part of me that feels old
Well here I am, standin with my soul in my shoes
Contemplating life and all that I can do
For my C-O-Double M-U-N-I-T-Y
I love you so
It is my C-O-Double M-U-N-I-T-Y
Please come say hello
Living together has all of its ups and downs
But I swear to you I’d rather be here
Than picking my shoes the shoelaces old
The traveling man is what been told is, part of my soul
Well I’d say to you, mind your own damn senses
And give your time to another
It is the gift of love, love, love that will, keep us together
It is my C-O-Double M-U-N-I-T-Y
I love you so
It is my C-O-Double M-U-N-I-T-Y
Please come say hello…
